Faulty SD Card

#1 Post by lcfiorini »

Hello everybody,

I have a 128 Gb PenDrive that stopped working properly and started showing the message "Windows cannot access the disk because it's write-protected" whenever I tried to use standard Windows Disk integrity tool (chkdsk). After plugging it into a Windows 10 machine and running TestDisk I got the log below:

Disk /dev/sdc - 123 GB / 114 GiB - CHS 14955 255 63
Current partition structure:

Partition Start End Size in sectors

1 * Xenix bad block 267349 89 4 534698 178 6 4294967295

Warning: Bad starting head (CHS and LBA don't match)
2 * Xenix bad block 267349 89 4 534698 178 6 4294967295
