Recovery - copyng to wrong destinaton disk?

4 TB disk recovery w/ ~ 2.5 TB of data: Win 10 / NTFS.
Disk initially unrecognized but eventually was. How ? unknown, Perhaps random chance.
Partition found - 3 or 4 day run; recovered files listed; all 'a' selected.
Shift to destination disk, but might have taped button twice (?), shift stopped at root /
==> normal looking screen w/ "copying, please wait...9 OK, 0 failed" message in green. A grey/white button at lower left marked "Stop" - Nothing in between.
Nothing seemed copied so far (+1.5 hrs)
Should I stop?
Would I recover? Do not want to spend another 4 days in 'suspense mode'! Especially with an unstable disk.
Or is there another way to complete the destination disk shift?
Thanks!
