Testdisk gives me these warnings:
Your disk geometry is not correct, for a better analyse u should correct it
Hidden sectors are present and hidden data too, host protect area is active
Numbers of heads cylinders mismatches 0 = 255
So should I correct anything in my hdd ?
If so , could I rlfinally recover those 20 gb of data that are in a area out of my first partition?
Also I ran isobuster3 and it found me a partition of 20 gb so what s wrong with Testdisk?
I mean, why doesn t Testdisk find it too?
Do u know a live CD with new version of Testdisk able to run on my old computer?
It should be a live CD with old kernel because my old pc is not compatible with new kernels.

Re: corrupted partition size
Why 20 GB? Didn't you say your C partition has a size of 7GB? I assume with 20 GB of data beyond the borders of the C-partition the C-partition has now shrunk to 0 bytes, because the formula inside + outside = 20 GB applies, right?maometto1 wrote: ↑22 Jun 2022, 11:51 Testdisk gives me these warnings:

Congratulations. Why are you ranting about Testdisk then, runnig even an outdated version? Use Isobuster 3 and everything will be fine.

I don't answer any "why"-questions because it is pointless.
If you really wanted your problem to be solved you would have provided sufficient documentation including your Isobuster findings and the response from Niubi whose products created your problems. I am not your complaint point.
Instead of talking about what Testdisk told you you should rather post your Testdisk logfile and find out who created the host protected area.
Please speak to me in full words. I am not your gamer buddy.Do u
And if the new version of Testdisk requires a current kernel? As my crystal ball is undergoing repair services I am currently unable to guess your computer model and age.know a live CD with new version of Testdisk able to run on my old computer?
It should be a live CD with old kernel because my old pc is not compatible with new kernels.
What you want is not a suitable solution for your problem.
Get yourself a docking station that supports IDE or a PCIExpress expansion card for IDE.
Keep in mind that your IDE drive would probably need a jumper set (assumably already installed right now).
Re: corrupted partition size
I run new version of Testdisk 7.2 wip and it found the partition I needed to recover.
While Testdisk version 6.14 did not find that partition.
But.... when I open my 20 gb partition, Testdisk 7. 2 gives me always error so now I ask you what I should do in order to recover the 20 gb partition and its files.
Here's the pics for the Testdisk 7.2 error about that partition and also I post here below Testdisk analyse log:

Re: corrupted partition size
Please read the documentation:
https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
You have to run Testdisk as root (with admin rights).

Re: corrupted partition size
"Intel" is another term for that MBR style partition table.
Unfortunately my support for you ends here.
1. You are not using the recommended version,
2. you did not even select your broken drive but another one although the label "Intenso USB 3.0 device" should have immediately warned you that you are touching the wrong drive.
For the sake of the health of your remaining drives I strongly recommend you to use the service of a professional recovery lab.
