I am trying to recover some mbox and *.msf files which I checked and are supported.
However, every time I go into photorec, and under file options, it doesn't list those file extensions for selection. Could someone please offer some guidance?
I tried both the latest 7.2, and 7.1
Running Debian 11.
Photorec doesn't list all file extensions

Re: Photorec doesn't list all file extensions
The menu list file families, not file extensions. mbox is part of the tx? file family.
Code: Select all
[X] ttf TrueType Font
[X] tx? Text files with header: rtf,xml,xhtml,mbox/imm,pm,ram,reg,sh,slk,stp,jad,url
[X] txt Other text files: txt,html,asp,bat,C,jsp,perl,php,py/emlx... scripts
[X] tz Timezone info

Thank you for this, and would you know what family msf files belong to?
MSF is listed as Mozilla mork database, and I was unable to find this in the list

I don't know either. But by searching the forum with the keyword "MSF" I found:
