Assistance Needed: Data Recovery from External Hard Drive After Creating Recovery Partition

Hello,

I’m facing a critical issue with my 4TB external hard drive, which contains approximately 3.5 TB of personal data, including important documents, images, songs, videos, and software. Unfortunately, I accidentally created a Windows 10 recovery drive on this drive.

Now, I see only a 32 GB Recovery partition (formatted as FAT32) and the rest of the drive is showing as unallocated space in Disk Management. The drive was originally formatted in NTFS.

I’ve deleted the 32 GB Recovery partition, but I still have two unallocated partitions showing. I haven’t made any other changes to the drive.

I’m currently trying to check if my data is still recoverable using various tools, including TestDisk, but I’m struggling with the command line and steps needed.

Could anyone guide me through the recovery process or provide steps to help me recover my data with original folder and file names intact? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Best,
Arun Kumar

How much free space is left on your recovery partition?
How was your external hard disk partitioned before the incident?
Did your external enclosure for the hard disk came with the hard disk already built in?

Please post your Testdisk log file.
