file recovery from an android tablet

I would like to try to use testdisk or photorec to recover files from a tablet (android 12).
I found this old discussion

but I cannot enable USB Mass Storage on the tablet in this way; I enabled instead USB debugging, so that I can access the tablet from my computer as an external device.
In this way, unfortunately, neither Testdisk nor photorec can detect the tablet .
My question is if it is possible to make in such a way to make the tablet detectable for testdisk and photorec, so to be able to use them on it to recover data.
