Version 7.1 loops, 7.2 and 7.3 WIP crashes on Mac

I have used PhotoRec since 2014. This is the first time I encounter a problem.
The issue involves 2 identical memory cards (Samsung 256 GB Pro Plus, SD) and a Mac mini 2011 running OS 10.13 High Sierra and TestDisk/PhotoRec version 7.1.
The first memory card worked fine. The second memory card made PhotoRec go into a loop. When reaching a certain point, it stated over. I searched and quickly found this thread : viewtopic.php?t=6944
So I looked around and found there was a newer version available. I downloaded 7.2. When running it I immediately ran into a problem. It didn't find any disks, and most importantly didn't restart itself with the sudo command, it just quit. As someone who hasn't used CLI since Commodore 64, it was a big hurdle throwing myself into the abstract Unix thinking and try doing it myself. I succeeded, it ran and found the disks.
I had never tried using TestDisk actually, but saw in the forum that one should start with that, so I decided to do that. There comes the next problem. TestDisk could not write to the memory card, despite unmounting the only partition and making sure the physical write protection switch on the card was in the right position. I chose to proceed anyway, selected scan at the end, but the program just quit, adding just a little extra text: "Abort trap: 6".
So I went back to PhotoRec. Same problem here with not finding disks and not restarting itself, so I had to manually type sudo. It asked if I wanted to continue the session. I chose yes, but was then informed that no disks were found, and the program quit. I restarted the program, now choosing not continuing the session., i.e. making a new, and now it worked like normal. After selecting the drive, the program crashes, with the same error message as with TD plus another one, garbled in between the ordinary text: "dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: ____chkstk_darwin"
I also tried version 7.3 WIP, it behaved exactly the same.
I have two screenshots but nowhere to upload them. This computer with this software have worked fine since 2023 until now.
Are your programs not working as they should, perhaps specific to Mac OS 10.13, or is that particular memory card faulty, perhaps a pirate copy/scam/bootleg?
