Photorec Recovering Files that aren't missing.
I dont want PhotoRec to scan 3 terabytes of photos, i just want it to scan the empty space for photos that went missing. How is this possible? Thanks!

What happened to the function of scanning unallocated space? 6.9 has it, but the latest version is devoid of it. Isn't that the point of the software?

The function is still here for FAT, NTFS, ext2/3/4, exFAT. It's available after selecting the partition.
If you choose whole disk, it isn't.
