Trying to recover a "My Passport" - which suddenly is not recognized and appears unformatted to my PC.
After "Analyse", TestDisk finds the partition:
Partition Start End Size in Sectors
>* HPFS-NTFS 0 32 33 121597 37 40 1953456128 [My Passport]
I do a "Quick Search" and the partition is highlighted in Reverse Green
And the program says Structure: OK
If I press P to list files,m the program crashes.
Any ideas?
This disk was a complete backup that I was able to get before having to re-format my main hard drive. I copied some files off it yesterday, but today, when ready to do a full restore -- it isn't being recognized.

Re: TestDisk crashing when trying to list files
You should try the Linux version. It uses a more robust NTFS library.
Another possibility is to use PhotoRec, be carefull to choose [Whole] instead of [Free].
