I think i got it! After restoring the boot sector i ran chkdsk /f and it's viewable now! Now i'll try to boot from it

YEP! It finished installing windows updates then booted right up! I wonder if the windows update had anything to do with the partition table/boot sector getting corrupted? I may never know!
