I have only have one partition listed and I changed the status to bootable by place the star * symbol in front of it

it was marked as L before and it had all the files I wanted

now I am on the write screen
and the only partition list is * for bootable

do I write now

I have similar questions about when it is safe to write. More examples, showing things that can go wrong and what to do would sure lower the anxiety level!
