Recover more than 12000 files?

#1 Post by Ran3dy »

I ran Photorec on an external 1TB drive anf it found/recovered 12000 files (mixed video and jpg, a few misc other formats thrown in). However, I know that there were more than that number of file on the drive, and in any case, the 12000 number seemed to be too perfect to be in fact the actual number of files on teh drive. Is this a built-in upper limit to the number of files the Photorec is able to recover? If so, is there a way to change that?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Photorec has actually no limit?
I've no idea about your OS and file system, if there would be any limit?
Something to try might be, you can recover any amount of files less then 12 thousand.
You can quit photorec and move your recovered files to another disk, partition or directory.
You can restart photorec again to continue your previous session.
Maybe it helps?
