Lost the whole partition

#1 Post by ismaeltxu »

This morning I was using my computer to do some images from some hard disks (XP - NTFS) and keepeing in a USB drive. My computer was a Debian wheezzy in a ext4 500GB disk.

I made a terrible error and I restore the image in my own internal disk instead the external one. Now I have a very long partition used 4 or 5 GB but all of my information is lost. All of my programs, my email,... Is (was) the work computer. I know you will speak about backup and I have a lot of things keeped but... can I recovery something from the hard disk?

Thanks you
