Choosing the disk to recover files from

#1 Post by May2 »

Hi, I'm desperately trying to recover a file I accidentally overwrote and when I try to select my computer disk with Photorec it only presents the USB drive as an option to select. I've read that I shouldn't install the program in my computer to avoid increasing the risk of losing my file, but the program says:
"Note: Some disks won't appear unless you're root user."

Any recommendations??

Thank you for your help
