I've used Testdisk to recover damaged NTFS before but this has me beaten - any help would be much appreciated! Daughter's 1Tb ext drive(almost full!). Connected to a Sky TV box which gabbed it and changed 2 NTFS partitions to Linux.
The files are still there and many have been recovered with TestDisk/PhotoRec but would like the original partitions back.
TestDisk finds:
Disk /dev/sdd - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 121601 255 63, sector size=512 - Seagate Backup+ SL,
then:
Partition table type (auto): Intel
Disk /dev/sdd - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - Seagate Backup+ SL
Partition table type: Intel
Analyse Disk /dev/sdd - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 121601 255 63

Current partition structure:

Bad sector count.
2 P Sys=8A 124 254 63 121600 254 63 1951511941
No partition is bootable
then:
Results
Linux 0 1 1 124 254 63 2008062
EXT3 Sparse superblock, 1028 MB / 980 MiB
Linux 124 254 63 121600 254 58 1951511936
XFS 6.2+ - bitmap version, 999 GB / 930 GiB
interface_write()
No partition found or selected for recovery
Puzzled why TestDisk reports: Partition table type: Intel and then goes on to find only Linux partitions. Any hope that the partitions may be recoverd?
Many thanks for any help.

After Quick Search, use Deeper Search, if the NTFS partition are found, set them to P(rimary) and on next screen, choose Write, confirm, if asked, choose BackupBS and confirm, Quit
