This computer has the BIOS in ROM, so a bit unusual. The computer tries to start Windows but it sticks at the coloured squares screen and then a BSOD appears for a split second and the start process begins again.
My problem is with TestDisk; operating the drive in a known-good external USB case, TestDisk sticks at the 'Please Wait' screen. I waited an hour. The drive case LED is red, indicating that the disc is being read, but nothing else happens. I have to turn off the computer by pressing the start button for 4 seconds.
