Your partition ist recoverable.
It's like as I supposed a Vista/Win7-partition and found after deeper search.
But the first thing to do might be, please check it and press p to list your files.
Please let me know, do you see your files or an error message?
Infos will follow.

I think it may help if I give the specifics of what I am trying to recover.

The only specific file I NEED to recover is a .txt file essentially the issue is using photorec I recover all the .txt files and there is 16,000 of them and they don't retain the names.

Two solutions would help avoid this, 1. If I can restore/see the file structure of the previous format (when it was exfat) and 2. if I could restore the file with the original file name.

Is it at all possible to do this somehow? To answer a question you mentioned earlier about fat32 confusion, I did the stupid thing of formating it to fat32 in windows when it didn't detect the drive, hoping I could use Getbackdata as I have done this when had this issue years ago and had no issue. So any help with this would be extremely great.

The only specific file I NEED to recover is a .txt file

Do you know the approximate size of your txt-file?
error message on both, file system seems corrupt.

A safe solution would be datarecovery software to get your files back.
In rare cases it was possible to run testdisk advanced / boot / rebuild bs, to list data with file namens and directories to copy them.
Rebuild BS checks your MFT and tries to list your data.
But might be possible if your file system is seriously damaged that you still get the message that your file system seems to be corrupt.
Would be the same procedure like in this topic;

can you guide me through this a little clearer so I can follow it and report back with results.
Sadly I do not know the file size, basically it is a keyfile for truecrypt and it was in a folder by itself on the drive that I am trying to fix, so I do not know the contents or file size just its name (which in photorec has changed).

You can use commercial software like Restorer Ultimate and scavenger as a trial.
The trial can recover files up to 128 KB.
Might be possible that the size could be ok?

For your boot sector diagnose;
Start TestDisk.
Confirm through until you see the menu Analyse.
Don't confirm at Analyse but Advanced.
Confirm at Boot with enter also.
Highlight Rebuild BS and hit Enter.
Rebuild your BS will be in progress.
Normally, it takes some minutes.
If it's finished, please post the infos or upload a screen.
If you see a menu List, please highlight it and press enter.
Please let me know, do you see your data or an error message.
To get back to the previous screen, easily press q for Quit.

Infos will follow.

Couldn't list the files again (see attached)

I downloaded and ran that program you mentioned, problem is, again the file names are lost, so I have 1000s of text files, is there no way to get the file names back or file structure (original folders etc)
