How long to wait?

#1 Post by gephoto » 20 May 2016, 02:27

Ran testdisk on a healthy 16gb lexar and it was pretty fast. Running it on the damaged disk I'm wondering how long to wait after agreeing to create a log file.

If there are a lof ot bad sectors, it's better to clone the disk first using gnu ddrescue.
Here is an old tutorial: https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/Damaged_Hard_Disk
