I have a 2TB WD My Book attached to my Mac for backup of photos. It crashed - the LCD display on the My Book no longer shows the capacity full/remaining.
When I attach the drive to my PC and run Disk Manager it shows the large partition as unallocated (thus I get no drive letter). I've run several recovery software packages and they show all or most of my files. Unfortunately, they all seem to lose the original folder structure and want to recover into mass folders by file type (tif, jpg, bmp, mov, etc).
I discovered TestDisk and ran it on my PC. It shows the My Drive, and recognizes the partition as Mac (HFS). After the search it doesn't give me the option to list files. I'd feel better about hitting "Write" if I could see the files and folder structure first. Is the USB connection or HFS format preventing the file list option or what am I doing wrong?
Thanks
