Hi I`m fairly new using testdisk and have recover some "light" files such as word, excel etc but I also have videos, images etc and although the tool seems to be running I cant seem to be able to determine whether or not is it really copying the file or it just froze.

I have attached my an image so you have a better idea of what I`m talking about....additionally I have enabled the logs however the file copy doesnt generate any log file instead the only thing I can see is a file called testdisk.log that only records the folder structure I have browsed to.

I`m running on a Windows 7, recovering from this Toshiba 2TB RAW disk to a WD 4TB drive. I dont mind waiting days to recover everything as long as I know that the tool is really running.

Can you create a Linux USB key (see https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf ) and try the Linux version of testdisk 7.1-WIP ?
Do you have more success copying the files ?

The Linux version is using the library ntfs-3g, it's the successor of the old ntfsprogs library.
