Deleted 3 TB partition

#1 Post by Vlado4 »

Hi everyone,

I accidentally deleted partition, fortunately made nothing else with that, no format or other steps.
It was 1 disk with 1 partition, but the size was 3 TB (as it was internal HDD it means GPT disk).
Can I safely recover the partition by using TestDisk software also in this case?

Note: When I start TestDisk, it shows me 3000 GB size of this unallocated partition correctly.

Thank you for your help.

Recent version (ie 7.1-WIP) of TestDisk handles GPT partitioned disks.

Just one more detail - the partition was NTFS.
Still OK for Testdisk?

Just one more question:
Testdisk ver. 7.1 WIP is beta.
Does ver. 7.0 which is stable version also safely restore deleted NTFS partition on GPT disk?
Thanks.

i am using testdisk to recover from a 4tb drive on gpt with ext4 that lost the partition and showed type none. its seems to be recovering all the files and folders taking me 2 days to back it up to a usb drive.
