Android mobile encrypted SD partitions

My Moto G3 USB data connector failed and its 16GB SD was encrypted (which I didn't realise at first). TestDisk found partitions named Android_Meta and Android_Extended so I followed the defaults and 'Wrote' the Extended partition as Primary, which was then recognisable by Windows, but of course proved unusable. Attempts to reverse the writing so I could at least see pictures on phone failed, as TestDisk can not now find the Meta partition even on deep search. Is there any way to undo the changes to the SD card?

If you have the testdisk.log file, it should contain the location and type of the previous partition.
Copy this file to keep it unmodified.
Run TestDisk, Analyse, Quick Search, use 'a' to manually add each partition one by one.
Once it's done, check the partition type of each partition (ie. Primary) and on next screen, choose write and confirm.

I'm afraid I didn't select logging. Is that the only possible method of recovery?
