The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable

#1 Post by yobyeknom »

I have a Buffalo Drivestation Duo 1TB with 2 - 500GB hard drives that was set with RAID 0 spanning mode. When I try to access it gives me the error - "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." I have a lot of files (pictures and home video) on this unit and would like to recover so I don't want to make a mistake. I have run the Quick Search and the Deeper Search but I'm not sure the best way to proceed with this using TestDisk. I can post the logfile if that is helpful.
In Windows in Disk Management it lists the drive as 931.51 GB RAW and Healthy (Logical Drive).
Any help would be appreciated including pointing me to a specific other threads or specific area of the FAQ.
Thank you in advance.

Run TestDisk, Advanced, select the partition, Boot
Does List show your files ? If not, try RebuildBS and again List, if it's ok now, choose Write and confirm.
