Before creating some custom signatures, the photorec.log gives me some original filenames:

Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any other identifier for nailing a DOS executable so I did create the simple MZ signature earlier and ran Photorec again. This signature has given me a further 73 files to try after I manually exclude ones with "This program requires Microsoft Windows" or ...
