"No space left for the file image"
I'm getting the error "No space left for the file image" in TestDisk image creation. However, the destination drive has more than enough space for the image and is formatted NTFS. This occurs at 3-5% completion and has happened with several attempts. I'd really like to know why this is happening and ...

Re: Photorec treating drive as encrypted when it's not
Interesting. I no longer have the drive powered on and am just working from the image. Speaking of that, TestDisk has been analyzing the image.dd since around 6pm yesterday and is only still at 70%. Don't know if this is normal and I should let it continue, or if these attempts are futile...

Re: Photorec treating drive as encrypted when it's not
Well, I couldn't figure out any way to analyze image.dd AND generate a log. I'm running the scan again on image.dd anyway, but based on current progress and past results, it may take up to a day before this is completed. I will plan to post screen shots of the results when it's done, as I doubt a ...

Re: Photorec treating drive as encrypted when it's not
I'm trying to run testdisk on the image.dd by opening the directory with the image.dd and running cmd "testdisk_win.exe image.dd". This starts the process but I notice it does not give the option to create a log this way.
Is there a way to analyze the image.dd after opening testdisk normally by ...

Re: Photorec treating drive as encrypted when it's not
I think I tried that but will try again and post the log for it when it is completed. I do remember that when the image.dd was finished being created it said there were "read errors."
Also, I could not get the smartmontools to work yet but I used something called CrystalDiskInfo. I've posted a ...

Re: Photorec treating drive as encrypted when it's not
By duplicate, do you mean imaging the drive? I've already done that. I got an image.dd file. Then I tried to run photorec on that. The results and log for that were in my initial posts.

Re: Photorec treating drive as encrypted when it's not
I'm using Windows 10. I am NOT running it as a live system.
The log file did update this time, but only to a certain point. The last thing I was trying to do was analyze the physical disk again. It gets stuck on about 12% and says there are read errors (but did not record this on log as I had to ...

Re: Photorec treating drive as encrypted when it's not
Okay, but the testdisk log appears to be empty. It never seems to update after I perform actions. So far, I've tried to read with testdisk and use phototec on the physical drive several times. Testdisk always says it cannot find a partition and photorec only pulls the files mentioned above and shown ...
