Can you try TestDisk, partition type: None, Advanced, List ?
If you can see your files, try "fsck.ext4 -b 98304 -B 4096 /dev/sda"
I just get the message:

This is unclear. If there is no file system that windows understands, windows will not write there unless you partitino and format it.
Yea Windows didn't recognise the volumes as anything so it offered to initialize them like they were new disks. I didn't realise this would alter them like it ...
