Testdisk only sees my Windows Drive.
The drive in question does not show in Test Disk.
It is connected internally with SATA.
I am running Windows 7.

Hard drive invisible
A WD blue 500 GB drive "disappeared" from my file system.
It is still visible in the BIOS and the Intel App recognizes the drive, but with unknown features.
TestDisk does not recognize it.
Any idea what I could do ?
Thanks!

Test Disk seems to be the ultimate tool if one understands what is going on.
Where can one find some knowledge about partitions / tables / MBR etc that helps using Test Disk?
Thank you

Hello,
out of the blue my external HD does not recognize the first out of 3 Partitions anymore.
Partition G shows as unformatted, H and J are fine.
Analyzing with Test Disk showed a wrong number of heads per cylinder.
After changing that and analyzing again the partition in question now shows as ...

I am not exactly sure what triggered it, but the HD Works on my PC again. Only connecting it to my TV still does not work. Not sure if themismatch of boot sector and backup is related to that.
I will shrink the volumen and create a 2nd partition to see if that helps, for chkdsk did not.

Standard issues; Step-by-step instructions?
