Just to be clear, you are saying that TestDisk can't find any temporary files that Word may have created? Or are you saying that you are sure that there would be no temporary files to find? I think what happened is that I failed to save at the end of the day and the next day closed the file without ...

TestDisk for lost versions of an MS Word file?
Looking at the documentation, I don't see how I would use this tool for finding a Word doc. Forgive me if I'm being dense, I'm in shock. I don't know how it happened that my file is an older version than the one I spent hours on just a few days ago.
