Here is what I get:

The type of the file system is NTFS.
Unable to determine volume version and state. CHKDSK aborted.

What can I do now?

Hi Coba,

Did you run the "chkdsk /f" command?

How did you manage to save your via Linux?

I am in the same situation and would need some help...

Did you manage to solve your problem?

I am stuck at the same level than your original post:
> Boot sector and Backup boot sector are both OK but "A valid NTFS Boot sector must be present"

I have heard that "chkdsk /f" can cause data lose... What's the risk?

Hello,

I have an external HDD WD My Passport 1 To. Since recently, I am getting "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" when I connect it and can't access the data. So here what I did:

Select the PhysicalDrive (Not the Drive E:), Partition type: Intel, Advanced, Boot and i get:

Boot ...
