I ran error scan in HD Tune Pro overnight, somehow when I came home from work the program was closed?. However, I was able to get a screenshot at the very beginning (after 1.5hr)

Think I might have figured out why it failed to copy files at 1st try. Somehow the default directory is faulty, so I manually entered the location where the files should be copied to. Now it's copying slowly but surely. Hopefully all files will be copied.

Thanks again for the help. I just followed your instructions on the last post. I was able to list the files in the hard drive by pressing "p" and gone through all the file selections and copy selected files. However, the copying process isn't fun.

Thank you for your response. I was able to get the HDD recognized again by unplugging and plugging in the USB over and over (at this stage, Minitool was able to recognize the disk as well, I can see browse the files in there).
Then I used Testdisk again, to change the partition from * to ...
