Ran CHKDSK and drive is operational now. There were several bad sectors.Took 8 days to get through the drive but scan completed and drive now shows in explorer.

The copy took almost a week, but it is done. What is the best course to diagnose and repair the drive?

The disk contained about 900GB of files, how long to you expect the copy action to take?

UPDATE
In Windows I get a "Drive not accessible. The parameter is incorrect." Error.
I am able to see all the files in testdisk. I am presently copying the files to another drive. Will advise. Any insight in the meantime is appreciated.
