I recently moved a 3 TB hard drive from a usb docking station into my desktop, which resulted in the drive becoming corrupt (in Windows, at least). Linux happily mounts my drive as a NTFS filystem (on /dev/sdX, not /dev/sdX1). Testdisk detects partition type none, and finds the NTFS filesystem along ...
