After a couple of restarts and reseating the data and power connectors. It seems to be reading but I am working on moving everything off there now. I plan to retire it as soon as I move the data and get a replacement.

Hi I am back again for my same Seagate Backup +Drive that is 4TB's big I noticed some times on boot on windows explorer it would not be operable. I tried running a chkdesk on it and it seems the drive has gone RAW now. I was wondering what the next step to take was.

UPDATE after a few more restarts and updating windows the drive appears to be functioning.

Thank you very much for your help.

I am not sure what the issue was but now when i check in TESTDISK it says the boot sectors are not identical and its working.

I ran a chkdsk just to start and that seems to have dome some things. I then restarted and loaded up testdisk and followed the steps on page 20 in the pdf you linked me.

I am still not sure what the issue is since it says the boot sectors are okay and the back up is okay but it says a valid ntfs ...
