Files list, stays RAW

#1 Post by IqIndy »

Hi -

I have a 3T drive in an external USB enclosure. The drive shows RAW in comp mgmt. TestDisk lists the partition and shows the files (P). I did Write the partition table and reboot. But, the drive is still not out of RAW mode.

Chkdsk (admin) identifies as NTFS, but then aborts and states "unable to determine volume version and state"

from win explorer it says "parameter is incorrect"

I would love to not have to buy another 3T drive to copy files over and just recover this drive.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Matt

Run TestDisk, Advanced, Boot, RebuildBS, List.
If you can see your files, choose Write, confirm, Quit, restart the computer and try again a "chkdsk /f" to check and repair the filesystem.
If it failed, you will have to copy the files using TestDisk.
