System won't boot after write

#1 Post by wongtong »

I tried to recovery my 8TB HDD, after write and reboot the system stuck at POST.

The drive i tried to recover is a back up drive so windows is on another drive, if i disconnect the 8TB drive system will POST and boot fine. If i reconnect the 8TB it will stuck at POST I can not get into BIOS either.

I traced my steps back an I selected INTEL/PC partition instead of EFI GPT Partition :(

It's possible to fix now?

Thank you!

I don't understand how a deleted partition may cause your computer to freeze during boot...

Put your 8TB harddisk in an USB case once your computer have booted.
As your disk is over 2 TB, you should use EFI GPT when using testdisk.
