I was trying to figure out how to go another drive to save files, accidentally I clicked the left arrow and it says directory listing in progress...
blinking forever.
How do I stop the program while directory listing in progress. This is the second time this happened and I couldn't safely eject my external drives because its being used by a program.

Kill the program by using the little cross or Ctrl-C.

Yes I did use photorec.
I rebooted my pc, and on the third try, I was able to eject it safely.
