Photorec

#1 Post by john2020 »

hi, in photorec when choosing a disk and afterwards choosing intel I can choose to recover free space (unallocated) or whole disk.
On the other hand if I choose none (non partitioned media) it doesn't have that optin and I get a lot of files that are not deleted at all. Is there any way to recover only deleted files in non partitioned media?

thanks in advance.

If you incorrectly have Photorec treat your partitioned disk as non partitioned media it is pretty natural that Photorec will pull information from existing partitions.
Naturally, if there is nothing partitioned on a drive, there is no basis for any kind of different treatment.

"Free space" is what you are probably looking for because this is what is not reserved by existing partitions.
