Hello
I tried Photorec via Rescatux to recover photos.
The destination folder where the recovered photos were saved could not be found.
My setting:
SSD with Debian
USB drive with Rescatux
Olympus Camera with deleted files to be recovered.
It seems Photorec couldn't let me select a location in SSD for destination, only in USB drive with Rescatux in live mode.
Finally I installed testdisk in SSD and performed the recovery.
My suggestion: Enable easy selection of destination folder for recovered photos outside of USB drive, namely the SSD in my setting.
Thank you and sorry if I missed it ot if duplicate post.
Suggestion: Improve saving location selection

Re: Suggestion: Improve saving location selection
As you are using Linux, when asked for the destination, you should select the mount point.
Extract from https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf
Extract from https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf
Code: Select all
Linux: File system from external disk may be available in a /media, /mnt or /run/media sub-directory.
Mount your destination drive if necessary.
