I ran testdisk on my hard drive after i accidentally formatted it while installing Zorin distro (im new to whole linux thing, didnt even know about the Live OS before installing the actual OS) the only thing i did to the hard disk was installing zorin after formatting no other overwriting... I had 4 partitions ( one for windows(C:) , and 3 for data ) .. after deep searching, testdisk found 3 partitions out of 4 ( windows and 2 data) but i couldn't find the fourth one... Did i lose that partition or any idea what is going on?
You have probably overwritten one of your data partitions while installing Zorin.
If Testdisk doesn't list a partition where you would find your lost data using the p-key "list files" your options left is using Photorec or some commercial recovery software.
Thanks for replying bro, i tried photorec but its really messy because i had many courses and collecting them would take forever... do you have any recommendations for some softwares?
