photorec looping/stuck

Hello;

### Linux, Ubuntu 18

Issue; Photorec keeps looping around the same sector.

I've read other topics and followed with the answer: viewtopic.php?p=26455#p26455

Deleted every recovered sector and left the latest line. In my case ;

Code: Select all

cat photorec.ses
#1621924409
/dev/sdb partition_gpt,255,blocksize,1024,fileopt,options,paranoid,keep_corrupted_file_no,mode_ext2,wholespace,search,status=ext2_on,1705935920,inter
1706005926-7814037167
But keeps looping . Taking a look at the "top/iotop" I can see it's writing data of 4k , but actually nothing is written, and just keeps looping.

Can I jump to a bit far ahead sector? In case of yes, are there specific numbers that I should keep in mind while trying? I kept a backup copy of photorec.ses with all recovered sectors just in case.

Thanks for the support.

Version 7.0

The output is stuck ( it doesn't even try sectors or anything ) . Restarted multiple times, this is output of a just made restart

Code: Select all

Disk /dev/sdb - 4000 GB / 3726 GiB (RO)
     Partition Start End Size in sectors
     Unknown                        0 7814037167 7814037168 [Whole disk]

Pass 0 - Reading sector 1705996288/7814037168, 0 files found
Elapsed time 0h02m07s - Estimated time to completion 0h07m34

Use 7.2 WIP.
