Hey guys,

Ive been digging through google and youtube for help here, until I was told about TestDisk and you guys.
My Asrock X99 OC motherboard experienced a CMOS reset, and it decided to change my RAID config to AHCI during Windows 10 bootup.

To my surprise my Raid 5 was gone, and after troubleshooting, rebooted into bios, changed back to RAID, booted up WIndows 10, but to no avail.
It reported back as failed raid array.

I followed instructions for using TestDisk to recover my raid partition configuration,
1) Deleting Raid Array
2) Creating Identical Array
3) Restarting Computer
4) Letting it initialize (even though that scared the living hell out of me)

Now, Ive ran TestDisk, let it sit for 8 hours, and its still running. Based on how it works through 1 sector per second, the remaining time is roughly 260 days.

What can I do here? I havent formatter the disks, but I let them reinitialize TWO times. (First time I recreated the array, then deleted it, because I thought initializing was going to make the partition unrecoverable)
Does initializing harm the partitions in any way?

Is there something else I can try? I hope my partition can be saved, as any recovery attempts doesnt actually show the important folders (only about 50gig, the rest I have backup of).

Try PhotoRec for a few minutes. Does it recover valid files ?
If it recovers small useless files, it's because the Raid 5 hasn't the same settings than previously.
Try TestDisk only once the Raid5 is correctly configured.

I tried what you suggested,
and recovered a 1,1gig videofile which works perfectly in 1080P quality, no corruption or CRC-issues.

I have configured the RAID array identically to the original array,
"Volume_0000
Raid5(Parity)
128KB
9.0TB
Failed"

This was the raid array info in Intel RST through UEFI BIOS.

The only difference I can think of, is that I created this RAID 5 volume through Windows Intel RST, not the bios.
But that shouldnt matter right? The order of the disks is identical.

Got any idea what I should do?

Im fairly certain Testdisk can fix this array

Which OS did you use to access your data ?
How many partitions do you had ? What was the filesystem ? What was the partition size ?

Okey, good news, saved the raid!

I stopped the search, restarted it and chose deep search, then stopping after about 5 minutes, then chose partition "RAID 5", (by using right arrow), pushed P for listing files and it showed everything without damages.
I copied out the most important, (just in case),

Then I chose the Raid 5 partition (by using right arrow), then pushed enter and then write.
Restarted computer, and VOILA, the partition shows in explorer.

All files there, no CRC, no issues whatsoever.

This tool is the best recovery tool Ive ever seen, Ive been in the computer business for 20 years, and my hat is off for you Christophe Grenier!!
