ok some more informations on my disk.
this is a ST4000LM024 - i bought it in 2017.
it was initialy an external disk. so to test the disk i opened the box ( Maxtor M3) and bought a SABRENT sata to USB converter.
so when i run smartctl command it returns:

when i run test disk. the disk is detected and size is quite ok 4000GB and 3726 GiB
and seen as 3726 Go RAW.
BUT
when i connect directly the drive in my laptop via a SATA extend cable ( its just a cable for connecting the drive which is a bit fat to be housed in my laptop),
i finds the drive but no size info - and whatever smartctl command returns an error.
thank you for helping.
start of edition :
i've reconnected the drive into the box and it sees size of 140GB
sector size = 32k
and
