Windows Media Creation Tool disaster, ("Like-A-Rook")

#1 Post by iamThem »

Hello ALL, I was referred here by suggestion.
I recently used MCT in an attempt to create a bootable Side-x-Side Win-Machine_/from/iso. [4TB Passport, ext. HDD]
Does anyone know if TestDisk is able to recover all the drives using the suggested method found on the landing page of CGSecurity? Does it write to the disk in anyway, prohibiting/corrupting future attempts?

(((Description of Use)))
I was using the passport as a constant storage on Win-11-Pro.
I had it partitioned into 8 different drives: (storage, boot and run VM's,(V-Box, VM-ware, Win-Sub, backup, 3 small for plug and play Unix, Linux, and Win drivers))
(also, I have not attempted ANY recovery methods)+(thought about running Autopsy, and FTK imager against it, but was hoping to recover in a more structured directory layout,(THERE IS A LOT OF data, iso, ova, vmx, etc.)

Thank you in advance for any assistance, advice, and/or suggestions, you are able to provide with this issue.

The posting above is a beautiful example how not to post.

The use of unnecessary abbreviations that I do not understand simply lets me stay away from that question.
An incomprehensible question with terms like "Side-x-Side Win-Machine_/from/iso" reinforces that impression.

No, it's all fairy tales. Testdisk does not exist at all. That suggestion above is outright impudent.

Despite having seen the so-called "landing page" the user iamThem ignores all links pointing to extensive documentation.
There is no answer to unspecific "Tell me all!"-questions.

It is sad to read such a posting.
