overwritten disk by an image of macrium.

#1 Post by crackerjack »

Hi, i messed up with one of my drives. I used macrium reflect image to restore it on a large ss instead of the 512gb ssd was installed in the 512gb hdd which has files thats important. I don't why how i did it but i know i selected the name of the correct ssd which is lexar and the other one is seagate but ofcourse i know its my fault and blaming myself.

i have tried a bunch of know recovery software. the problem is i think it is only seeing the files/partition of the OS that was copied to the seagate HDD. i can't find the files that was originally on the seagate.

can anyone suggest or know how to deal with this? just wanted to check here. tia!

Please provide a meaningful description. The sentence above is incomprehensible.

Thank you!

hello im sorry was just in a hurry and so tired.
basically i have 2 drives on my pc. the OS drive C: which is a 128gb ssd. and drive D: 512gb seagate HDD.
since C: drive is very low in space i decided to to replace it with a 512gb ssd. so i cloned it using macrium reflect and then restored that OS to the new 512gb ssd.

but instead to the new one, i accidentally restored that image/clone to the drive D: seagate HDD which overwritten its contents. :(
i tried using different recovery software and it seems it only shows the files that are in the OS drive part. not in the D: HDD part
