I made a mess... Well Easus did.. Help !

#1 Post by Luuukke »

short story, i wanted to extend the efi system partition to allow the latest windows 23h2 upgrade
(issue with not enough space to install it, following MS kb article).

Disk with 3 partitions
efi system
C: (bitlocker) System / Windows 11
D: (bitlocker) Data

So i used Easus partition master, as i already used it many times in the past without issue.
i started resizing the partition D to free some space, it requested to unlock the bitlocker,
restarted the computer, worked a few minutes,
rebooted, then no more D ...

I used testdisk to rewrite the partition allocations, using a windows boot usb
but ended up without system disk, while getting back the D partition

Now I mounted the hard drive using a USB Enclosure
now i can see the D under windows, with all original documents,
but no more C/Windows drive

the space stays available, apparentely at the correct position
i tried to create a partition with aomei, but no success, the partition stays empty
the c was encrypted with bitlocker, i have the code of course.. but under winodws or aomei, it show as unencrypted

here is what i see with testdisk, it it stuck at 99%

I am loosing my hair on this..
Thanks to help !!

It is unclear if the Bitlocker encryption for your partition labeled "c" has been completely removed or not.

Use this example to search for the lost c-partition.

If TestDisk does not provide readable content, contac the Easus manufacturer. Use PhotoRec to rescue possible data of yours residing there or try using a commercial produkt if the Easeus people are unable to help you.

By the way, your whole undertaking is soo risky due to the encryption involved that you should have duplicated your candidate.
