TestDisk result... any advice? Thanks!

#1 Post by Corbusier »

Hi

The partition of my data hard drive has disapeared

Testdisk run for one night and the result are:

Disk //Physicaldrive3 - 2000 GB /1863 GiB - CHS 243281 255 63
Partition Start End Size in sectors

(no partition) (no start) (no end) (no size in sectors)

Keys A: add partition, L:load backup, Enter: to continue

Is there any possibility to recover the data of the disk?

Thank you very much

Try other recovery software. If everything else fails, uses PhotoRec.
Before doing so, check SMART parameters using smartmontools or Crystaldiskinfo.
Depending on the results use a professional recovery lab or continue on your own.
When continuing on your own, clone the disk using ddrescue as described in the manual.

If your source disk seems defective, clone the clone, work on the second clone to have a fallback solution in case you are doing something wrong as some recovery programs (TestDisk included) allow for manipulations on the underlying disk.
