Have a raid5 array with AMD chipset and its partition table vanished today. TestDisk found the partition with no problems and can list all files, but when I go to write the table to disk it simply says "Partition: Write Error" with no additional information.
I have no antivirus and TestDisk was launched as administrator
If there is a bad sector, would running chkdisk or some sector scanner help?
Side note, this is the 3rd time my beloved horde of files has magically lost its partition table, twice on an Intel controller, and now on AMD. This was even after a clean orderly shutdown, it just came up uninitialized My luck
Thanks for reading, Ben
