partition not visible

#1 Post by formby1 » 27 Mar 2013, 21:05

This is my first post although I have read quite a few and I am hoping some one could give some advice.
My daughters wd elements 2tB external disk has suffered a broken usb connector. It was damaged when the cable was knocked side ways. after checking the connection internally the usb could not be repaired so I removed the pcb and bought another enclosure ( dynamode) and connected using sata connector and eternal power source through usb to my laptop which has testdisk on it. After connecting and running testdisk it would seem to show more than one disk.( excluding the laptop disk)
/dev/sdb - 2000 GB / 1863 GiB - CHS 30400 255 63, sector size=4096 - WDC WD20 EARX-32PASB0, S/N:152D20337A0C

Disk \\.\PhysicalDrive1 - 2000 GB / 1863 GiB - CHS 30400 255 63, sector size=4096 - WDC WD20 EARX-32PASB0, S/N:152D20337A0C

Drive E: - 2000 GB / 1863 GiB - CHS 30400 255 63, sector size=4096 - WDC WD20 EARX-32PASB0, S/N:152D20337A0C

I have tried to go thru testdisk step by step including a deeper scan but i still cannot get the drive to be recognised. I have managed to list all the files ( so I know at the moment I can at least save the most important files)I have included the log file upto analysing the HDD. any help from the info contained would be much appreciated thanks in advance
