the good news first: The data is not importand and I was able to copy everything with the copy function from testdisk.
So this is a rather academic question. I do not understand why testdisk has no problems to read all the data and recognize the partition corretly, but Windows fails to do so.
On my home pc, the stick was not even recognized and windows suggested to format the stick.
At work, the stick is seen by Windows XP, there seems to be no content though, but the properties show the stick is full...
I got the screenshots below so you can make your own picture of the situation:

--> Yep, thats the partition I am looking for!

--> Here are its files....

--> Write info

Additional info: Bootsector can't be written

Now please check out the dump section, I had to read it twice

This means:
Error reading the medium. BOOTMGR missing. BOOTMGR compressed [this makes no sense, I believe it should be "compromised"] Restart with CTRL + ALT + DEL
So, any1 here has a clue ?
Thanks in advance,
James
