deeper search: harddisk seems too small

#1 Post by galaxyclass »

Hi !

For some reason, I really don't know, The filesystem of my 2nd HDD chrashed while I performed a Secure Erase on my SSD in parted magic.

It's partitioned in 3 partitions, but while TestDisk gives me the chance to recovery Partition 1 and 2 it says even after a deeper search:

The harddisk seems too small! check for jumpers.

Is there still a chance of recover that partition ?
The HDD is in AHCI Mode. Shall I switch to IDE ?

Testdisk helped me so many times, but I'm afraid I lost my data really, this time. Without knowing what I did wrong......

Run TestDisk, Advanced, select the NTFS partition, Boot, BackupBS, confirm, Quit

I appreciate your help, but that didn t work.

Shall I try to extend the cylinder size to 63351 ?
But I'm really don't know what this could cause, and that's why I'm a little anxious :)
